Willis "JR" Lakey (Seymour)'s Obituary
Willis L. Lakey, Jr. known as JR passed away suddenly Tuesday February 20, 2018 in his home in Fordland. He was born on March 2, 1961 in Marshfield, Missouri, the eldest of four sons born to Willis L. Lakey, Sr. and Mary F. (Davidson) Lakey. JR attended Seymour schools. He was united in marriage to Paula M. Groves and to this union a daughter Christina was born.
JR was an avid fan of the NASCAR scene. His favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Richard Petty. He enjoyed sketching and drawing, he was very talented. He also enjoyed going with friends and dancing and singing
Survivors include his father Willis L. “Bee” Lakey, Sr. of Seymour, MO; his daughter Christina Lakey of Republic, MO; three brothers Clifford Leon Lakey of Fordland, MO; Charles Lakey and wife Angela of Seymour, MO; Michael Lakey and wife Pamela of Republic, MO; two nieces Skyler Lakey, Austyn Lakey and a nephew Seth Lakey as well as several cousins.
JR was preceded in death by his mother Mary and wife Paula, both in 2009.
He loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
