Wilma Lucille Sherrell (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Wilma Lucille Sherrell, daughter of Joseph W. and Mary A. Brown Lindsay, was born September 2, 1922, near Orla, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, October 29, 2013, in Christian Health Care and Rehabilitation Center South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one years, one month, and twenty-seven days.
On March 6, 1938, she was united in marriage to Noel Edward Sherrell, and to this union two daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Noel, on September 3, 1974; a daughter, Barbara Richardson; a granddaughter, Kimberly Biles; three brothers, Alfred, Eugene and Victor Lindsay; and three sisters, Lovetta Lindsay, Juanita Weaver, and Delores Menchaca.
Lucille is survived by a daughter, Patsy Levandoski, and her husband, Jerry, of Mountaintop, Pennsylvania; a son, Charles Sherrell, and his wife, Karen, of Adams, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, David Richardson, Joe Richardson, Karen Sechrest, Michael Sherrell, and Jerri Lynne Harris; eight great-grandchildren, Libby, Lindsay, Sam, Stephanie, Ryan, Robbie, Christina, and Chad; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Bates, of Memphis, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews; two special friends, Don and Judy Fulkerson, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Laclede County, and attended Garner School. After she and Noel were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area, and lovingly raised their children. Lucille was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, and also worked as a seamstress beginning with the Rice Stix Factory and then continuing with the H. D. Lee Company. Her career in clothing manufacturing spanned a number of years before she retired.
Lucille had professed her belief in Christ and followed the Baptist faith throughout her life. She had a love for gospel music and enjoyed listening to her favorite recording artists.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and doing embroidery projects. She liked working in her garden and growing beautiful flowers. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Lucille was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her long life and know that her family will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Memorial donations to the McBride Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, may be made through the funeral home.
