Wilma Louise Smith (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Wilma Louise Smith, daughter of L. Dee and Wilma I. Ware Myers, was born July 26, 1945, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, September 6, 2012, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-seven years, one month, and ten days.
On May 25, 1964, she was united in marriage to Jackie Dean Smith, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her father; and a son, William Smith.
Louise is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Jackie, of the home; a daughter, Deanna Strong, and her husband, Darren, of Richland, Missouri; a grandson, Dakota; her mother, Wilma Myers, of Lebanon, Missouri; four brothers, Ron Myers, of Lebanon, Missouri, Kenny Myers, of Eldridge, Missouri, Jack Myers, of Forney, Texas, and Rick Myers, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Lebanon, Missouri, and then moved with her family to Camdenton, Missouri, where she graduated from Camdenton High School. Shortly after she and Jackie were married, they made their home in Samon, Idaho, where they lovingly raised their daughter. In 2004, the family moved back to Lebanon. Louise was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family throughout the years, and also helped Jackie in the operation of his trucking business.
Louise loved to bowl and had gone to the National Bowling Tournament in Reno, Nevada. She also liked caring for her yard and growing beautiful flowers. She was a very considerate person who always put others before herself. She enjoyed doing craft projects and making wind socks. She loved her family dearly, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson.
Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
