Wm. "Junior" Farrell Chastain, Jr. (Lebanon)'s Obituary
William Farrell “Junior” Chastain, Jr., son of William Farrell and Pearl Knight Chastain, was born August 14, 1943, near Russ, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, September 21, 2017, in Mercy Hospital in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, one month, and seven days.
On February 4, 1984, he was united in marriage to Nellie Deal and they shared thirty-three years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Ruth Gentile.
Junior, as he was called by his family and friends, is survived by, his wife, Nellie, of the home; three daughters, Shelly Sipler, and her husband, Jake, of Lebanon, Missouri, Susan Wright, of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Carol Wilson, of St. Louis, Missouri; two sons, Eric Chastain, and his wife, Tammy, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Ricky Wright, and his wife, Carlene, of Bassett, Virginia; five grandsons, Ian, Aidan, Chase, Michael, and David; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Junior was raised in the Russ Community, and graduated from Lebanon High School. He served as a police officer for the Lebanon Police Department during the 1960’s. He worked for Carmeco, Inc. for twenty-nine years, and then was employed by Vernon & Sons for ten years. He later worked for Mi-kel Industrial Supply for awhile.
He was an Elder and fill-in Preacher at the Lebanon Seventh Day Adventist Church. He greatly enjoyed studying his Bible.
Junior liked being outdoors, where he particularly enjoyed fishing. He was always smiling and never met a stranger. Junior always had a positive attitude to those around him. He had a great sense of humor and got a kick out of telling jokes. The most important things in life to Junior were his family and his church. He was also very close to his brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
Junior was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
A memorial has been established and may be left at Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
