Yolanda F Williams (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Yolanda Fern Williams, daughter of Ferdinand and Elizabeth Alice Townley Nolte, was born July 3, 1930, in Chamois, Missouri. She departed this life peacefully Sunday, October 30, 2022, in Overland Park, Kansas, at the age of ninety-two years, three months, and twenty-seven days.
In 1950, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Bobbie Ellis Williams, and to this union one daughter was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; her daughter, Gwenus Rennia Kirchhoff; a brother, Norris; and three sisters, Vinita, Glenda, and Doris Jean.
Yolanda is survived by a granddaughter, Dr. Chassica Kirchhoff, and grandson-in-law, Shane Hambelton, both of Detroit, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; her extended family; and many friends.
Yolanda’s outgoing and outspoken personality made her a memorable presence in many lives. After she and Bob were married, they made a home and raised their daughter in Fulton, Missouri. They also built and expanded a cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks that became a beautiful home and beloved gathering place for their wide circle of family and friends. The Lake home’s many shady gardens blossomed under the care of Yolanda’s green thumb. A lifelong caretaker, Yolanda worked as a nurse and shared her many artistic talents by facilitating art and occupational therapy for the incarcerated until her retirement in 1985. Following her retirement and the loss of her husband, she traveled extensively, relishing opportunities to explore the United States. She made many friends in Lebanon and Rogersville, where she was a devoted churchgoer and a regular presence at country music performances around the area.
Yolanda was a loving mother and grandmother who adored spending time with her daughter and only grandchild, as well as her friends’ growing families. Her big, bright smiles were familiar to everyone who knew her, and she loved to share laughter and stories with those in her life.
Rather than flowers, the family requests those wishing to remember Yolanda make a memorial donation in her honor to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund (https://curealz.org/giving/donate) or the Missouri Department of Conservation (https://mdc.mo.gov/contact-engage/donate).
