Yvonna Darlene Bonnie Denney's Obituary
Yvonna Darlene “Bonnie” Denney, daughter of Arley Lenward and Virgia Agnes Milligan Prewitt, was born July 30, 1941 in Greeley, Colorado. She departed this life Monday, November 26, 2007, in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-six years, three months, and twenty-six days. On March 5, 1957, Bonnie was united in marriage to William Roger Cross, and to this union one daughter and four sons were born. She was later married to Sammy Louis Denney on November 10, 1983. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gerald Wayne Cross; one brother, Maurice Prewitt; one sister, Agnes Shores; and a brother-in-law, Jack Shores. Bonnie is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Johnson and her husband, Jim, of Seymour, Missouri; three sons, Kevin Cross and his wife, Teresa, of Fordland, Missouri, Roger Cross and his wife, Lori, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Ron Cross and his wife, Amy, of Mechanicsville, Virginia; twelve grandchildren, Jason, Jackie, Chauncie, Candace, Drew, Ryan, Catlyn, Kendra, Keely, Kody, and Ty; one brother, Reed Prewitt and his wife, Janice, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Daisy Prewitt, of Seymour, Missouri; two aunts, Ethel Young and her husband, Johnny, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Korena Sanders and her husband, Paul, of Windsor, Illinois; two uncles, Bert Milligan and his wife, Helen, of Seymour, Missouri, Dempsey Milligan and his wife, Darlene, of Sterling, Colorado; an aunt-in-law, Loretta Milligan, of Ulysses, Kansas; a number of nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Bonnie was born in Colorado, and had lived in various locations before settling in Seymour. She was a devoted homemaker who loved to cook and worked hard to make a good home for her family. Besides being a homemaker, she had worked at Lynch’s and the Seymour Inn Restaurants in Seymour. She accepted Christ as her Savior on August 20, 1997 and was baptized on September 7, 1997. With the help of her grandson Kody, Bonnie rededicated her life to Christ in August of this year. In her spare time, Bonnie enjoyed playing pool and bingo with her friends at the Eagle’s Lodge near Ava, fishing and camping, and hunting for mushrooms. She also traveled with Sammy to many different places throughout the United States. Bonnie loved her children and grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending time with them. Bonnie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri. Return to top
