Zack Mortensen's Obituary
Zachary Ray “Zack” Mortensen, son of Melissa Marie Geszvain Mortensen and Richard Ray Mortensen, was born January 20, 1990, in Camp Pendleton, California. He departed this life Tuesday, July 22, 2008, near Greenview, Missouri, at the age of eighteen years, six months and two days. Survivors include his mother, Melissa Mortensen and Mark Larocque of Camdenton, Missouri; his father, Rick Mortensen and wife Bethany of Festus, Missouri; three siblings, Joseph Larocque of Camdenton, Missouri, and Avin and Zelia Mortensen both of Festus, Missouri; his maternal grandfather, Dan Geszvain and wife Marisela of Yuma, Arizona; his paternal grandmother, Sharon Mortensen of Roby, Missouri; his maternal great-grandmother, Esther Geszvain-Whyte and husband Charlie of Sussex, Wisconsin; and a host of other family members and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jean Geszvain and his paternal grandfather, Arvin Mortensen. Zack lived in many places throughout the United States while growing up. In 2000, he moved to Camdenton as a fifth grader. He graduated from Camdenton High School in the Class of 2008. While in high school he was on the Laker wrestling and football teams his freshman and sophomore years. He was also an active member of the F.F.A. throughout high school. He was currently working as a cook at Captain Ron’s. He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Camdenton. In his spare time he enjoyed playing video games and watching movies. He had many friends and loved spending time hanging out with them. He was good at working with his hands and enjoyed building things and working on his truck. Zack was a loving son, brother and grandson and was a caring friend. Although his life was too brief, he touched many lives and his memory will carry on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. Services will be at 11:00 am Saturday July 26, 2008 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday at 9:00 am until service time at the church under the direction of Allee- Holman- Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. A memorial has been established to create an FFA Scholarship at the Camdenton High School. Donations may be left at the funeral home. Return to top
