Zoe Tarr (Seymour)'s Obituary
Zoe Mae (Cokeley) Tarr, daughter of Harry Ray and Willa A. (Ross) Cokeley, was born June 15, 1925 in Cairo, West Virginia. She departed this life Thursday, May 2, 2013 on her farm near Fordland, Missouri at the age of eighty-seven years.
Raised in Washington, Pennsylvania with her brothers and sisters, Zoe loved to the outdoors. She met the love of her life, Charles Chester Tarr, Jr. at a church function and on February 7, 1949 the couple was united in marriage. To this union one daughter and one son were born. The couple moved to California in 1963, where they lived until Charles retired. In November of 1979 they moved to a farm in the Seymour area.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-seven years Charles; and her brother-in-law Paul Sams.
Zoe is survived by her children Dennis Tarr and Lola Tarr both of Seymour, Missouri; her two brothers Holland Cokeley and wife Alice and Calvin Cokeley and wife Margret; and her sister Annebell (Cokeley) Sams all of Washington, Pennsylvania.
A member of the Christian Missionary Alliance, Zoe humbly served her Lord by caring for her family and reaching out to her community by volunteering for the Salvation Army. She held the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, shinning his love and peace with her kind heart. Zoe never let her hands be idle and loved to crochet things for others. The outdoors brought her such joy as she watched the birds and the animals that came to visit in her backyard.
Zoe was a loving mother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she leaves for us to share. She will be missed, and forever loved by her family.
