Alan Lee Smith (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Alan Lee Smith of Lebanon, Missouri, passed away in Warsaw Health and Rehab in Warsaw, Missouri on Saturday, January 7, 2023. At the time of his passing, he was 64 years, five months and nineteen days.
Alan was born July 19, 1958 in San Francisco, California to Ronald James Smith and Frances Junetta Smith (nee Shelby), who preceded him in death.
He was raised in California and was a graduate of Terra Nova High School in the class of 1976. He worked for Pacific Bell in California. He then moved with his parents to Missouri. He graduated from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri with a Bachelor degree in Communications. While attending college in Springfield, he worked for 3M.
Alan then returned to California where he worked for a security firm at Pacific Gas and Electric and was a dispatcher for AAA in Northern California. He then moved back to Missouri to care for his mother.
He is survived by three brothers, Kenneth Smith and his wife, Anita of Warsaw, Missouri, Ron Smith and his wife, Linda of Antioch, California and Gary Smith and his wife, Robin of Alamogordo, New Mexico; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Alan was raised in the Baptist faith, but became the assistant organist at the Mormon Church and began to follow the Mormon faith. He was very accomplished in music and played the organ and piano. When he was at the keyboard, his fingers were like magic as he made beautiful music.
He also enjoyed cats and had a cat named Helen Elizabeth McGillakitty,
Alan would put a smile on your face no matter what mood you were in. His laugh was like non-other and he was just always happy. He also had a nickname for everyone.
Alan and his musical talent, his laughter and his ability to spread joy will be missed by all those who knew him.
