Barbara Joyce Turner (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Barbara Joyce Turner, daughter of Donald W. and Delores Mendoza Curtis, was born November 26, 1938, in Santa Cruz, California. She departed this life Monday, December 9, 2019, in her home, in Marshfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, and thirteen days.
On January 1, 1980, she was united in marriage to LeRoy Turner, and they shared thirty-six years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy, on October 3, 2016; and a son, Don.
Barbara is survived by three sons, Larry Dowell, of Marshfield, Missouri, Wade Coleman, of Uvalde, Texas, and Mike McPherson, of Waynesville, Missouri; a daughter, Debbie Matear, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of grandchildren; several step-children and step-grandchildren, including Joel Turner, and LeRoy Turner, Jr., both of Springfield, Missouri; a brother, Billy Robinson, of the State of Texas; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in California and Texas and then worked as a welder in Connecticut for several years. She worked as a self-employed over the road truck driver for many years,, and then worked for Prime, Incorporated for several years.
She enjoyed going to the Senior Center in Conway, Missouri, and liked gambling and going to casinos. She was a woman of determination and grit that was steadfast in her opinions. She enjoyed her family and her friends.
Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, step-mother, step--grandmother, sister, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
All services are private and under the care and direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral home of Lebanon, Missouri.
