Chandi~
I believe we have only met on Facebook, but you were very sweet, and I enjoyed chatting on occasion. RIP, sweet girl.
My precious Chandi, I cannot imagine my life without you. Your smile, alone, is reason enough, but there is much more. You were a funny, tiny girl. When our screen door accidentally locked, you stood outside, knocking, saying, “Too much lock!” If a new food was put on your plate-your reaction-“I think I’m tasting this before,” and rain washed up angleworms out of the ground and onto the driveway “nakes “ (snakes) were everywhere; your favorite movie, “101 Doggiemations “. You
labeled us, your grandparents, Papa Boy and Papa Girl, or “ the Papas.”
You were kind, holding my hand for balance
while sightseeing in Mo.. You took Licorice for walks out of the “trap”. ( your name for her pen). You cooked fine meals, and, barely, covered your ears when Megan played the sax.
You and Jenifer “trick or treated” from our house. The neighbors ran out of treats. All they had were some magazines. You, happily, accepted . School was an obstacle, so you earned your GED, and successfully, took the course and qualified as a phlebotomist. You could discuss medical jargon as well as any PA, and why not, too much of your life was spent in the hospital. You were my good helper, filling jugs with water at the park when we had a leak and had to shut off our water. You helped me move furniture I never could have managed by myself. You were always ready, willing, and able to assist.
Texts I have from you are a treasure. As I read them, you tell me your troubles, but more importantly, you share your joys, your thoughts, your laughter, best of all, your love.
Our years together have been much too short. I shall miss you and love you forever-The Papa Girl
Although I never met Chandi, I heard a lot about her from her sister Jenifer (my daughter-in-law) Jenifer’s dreams of Chandi staying with her here in the uk, her deep love for her big sister, her need to care for her in these scary times. Jenifer and Josh couldn’t wait for Chandi to meet her Nephew Jasper.. We also looked forward to meeting Chandi one day. My heart breaks for Beth,Jeff,Jenifer, Josh and Jasper not meeting his beautiful Aunty.. Rest in peace Chandi. With Love Mike and Maxine
Chandi was my best friend, and partner in crime. We used to spend hours together in our rooms just talking, dancing, laughing to the point of tears.
She was so creative and loved designing clothes with me and playing all sorts of games. If you wanted to hang out, Chandi was always up for it and the first to volunteer.
Chandi had a heart of gold, she was so generous, kind, and full of love for everyone. She always had a smile on her face.
I will miss you so much, a piece of my heart is missing without you.
Chandi liked to visit her cousins in Canada. ( Kayla and Brittany ). They loved to play together and share imaginations. I used to call them the three musketeers.
Those are cherished days for me, to hear them laughing and having a good time. Childhood is priceless.
I loved Chandi’s smile and her willingness to love.
Love you Chandi,
Aunt Linda
Since our sweet Chandi was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the tiny age of six, it’s seemed she’s had an uphill climb in life. It’s a cruel disease that nobody should have to endure. That said, Chandi was never without a smile and optimism. I‘ve always admired that about her. And what a smile... pure sunshine! In my last conversation with our darling girl, she was more full of life than I’d heard from her in a long time, discussing how she hoped the stuff she’s been through would guide her in helping others in their journeys with diabetes and the other overwhelming autoimmune issues she faced. She also had big plans to finally meet that beautiful nephew of hers, whom she loved dearly. It breaks my heart that her sweet life was cut so drastically short. It isn’t right and will leave all who love her forever changed. The one small solace is she’s finally free from the pain and medical struggles that have plagued her for so long. Rest peacefully, beautiful one. You’ll be missed more than words will ever adequately begin to express. We love you!
Chandi liked to do things with her cousins Kayla and Brittany. She visited them several times in Canada. I used to call them the three musketeers. They got along well and enjoyed some of their childhood together. I loved her smile and her willingness to love.
Love you Chandi,
Aunt Linda
