Charlcie Maxine Royster, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023, in Integris Hospice House, Oklahoma City. She was born February 17, 1934, in Texas County, Missouri, to Jesse Otto Mace and Fairie Mae Mason Read Obituary
My children were some of the hundreds who were lucky enough to have “Mrs. Royster” as their Kindergarten teacher. She had such a wonderful gift of seeing each child’s unique potential and and truly appreciated the magic of childhood innocence and curiosity. We later became friends and I always loved hearing her stories and her laughter. She will be always in our memories. Pat Flurry
I taught with Charlcie, and she was also my Shelby’s kindergarten teacher. She was one of a kind. She read them wonderful literature, and on a day it snowed, she “threw out the lesson plans” and they made snow ice cream, but most importantly, she loved her kindergarteners deeply and knew how to help them have a successful first start in school. I was so blessed to call her colleague, friend, and teacher. She was so special to us. ❤️

I taught with Charlcie at Western Oaks. I taught First Grade and loved getting students she taught in kindergarten, I always knew they would be ready for the next level. She was a wonderful friend and coworker. After retirement, I enjoyed playing bunco with her and our Wednesday morning coffee at Panera. She will be greatly missed. Norma Fetzer

Charlcie, one of the best!
She was loved by her students, many friends and family. Charlecie was talented through her artwork and teaching her beloved Kindergarten students.
During her retirement years, Charlecie volunteered many hours as docent at Cowboy Museum in Oklahoma City OK
where she was often requested to be tour guide to all age groups because she was so knowledgeable and had a way of making it interesting and fun for everyone.
I remember her fondly as one of my very best friends.

"Charlcie was a very sweet neighbor since moving into our neighborhood about 18-19 years ago. We live right across the street and Charlcie would come over for a short visit usually at least once a week. We visited last Thursday, one day before her stroke and I already miss her so much! I am 81 years old, so we were in the same generation and had many similar perspectives on life. My son, Greg, who lives with me fondly remembers Charlcie as a substitute teacher in his class several times at Western Oaks Elementary many years ago. Charlcie was also a docent "at the Cowboy Hall of Fame for many years and gave such excellent tours. She is going to be missed by so many for her contribution to their lives. Greg and I convey our sincere sympathy to all of Charlcie's family."
