Charley was my stepfather for 24 years. He was always loving and understanding while firm in his own way. Though the marriage to my mother ended, my live for Charley never did. In most recent years "Pops" became a spiritual mentor to me. Something he told me is something I've shared with many others; he always said "Miss, never let go of God's hand," I just found out of his passing and he will be he is mourned, will be greatly missed and always loved. Met Charlie at Eagles Wings Family Church. Had no idea that he and my dad, Carl Bohannon, had known each other as kids. Charlie and dad got to see each other at the Sunday night services at Eagles Wings. Dad would request Charlie to sing Why Me Lord. Loved to hear him sing. He had a great testimony and was such a kind man with a sweet spirit. He will be greatly missed.
I knew Charlie back in his Country & Western Band Days. I even paited him a huge back drop of an eagle carting his guitar. We lost touch over the many years but I started playing piano at Eagle Wings Family church where he was going on Sunday nights. Bro Jack was introducing us & I said Charlie Krider that played Country he then said Glenda Moore. I said yes! We proceeded to share how we knew each other & Heather do you remember me taking care of your grandma when she had Alzheimer’s? Well Charlie & I started playing music together & singing together at the church till Covid hit. I wanted to visit him but didn’t want to put him at risk. We chatted on FB & by phone a few times. I regret not more now. I had such great respect for the great Bible Scholar he had become. He had wore his Bible thin. Heather you have my deepest sympathy & I will never forget your dad. He loved my cookies when we had singing service the last Sunday night of each month. Lol
Charley lit the fire in me to learn guitar he taught me my fist chords. I cherish the times I spent with him and Kris sitting on the porch having coffee.Best times ever.
Will never forget him or his heart and all the love he gave to Dalton, Grace and I - Melissa Smith
Charley was such a sweet guy and I'm going to miss him and his sense of humor. Hugs and prayer for his family. RIP
