Chris was a blast to hang out with. At Camp Lejeune a group of us would hang out paying phase 10 until 3am. Chris helped me put together my first daughters nursery. Great guy and I miss him. Going to visit him tomorrow morning

Growing up in a small town can sometimes be difficult and I remember a time in my life when I felt very unwanted by my peers and it was at this time that Chris had a birthday party and I was so excited that he invited me. Chris made me feel welcomed and cared about and here it is 25 plus years later and I still remember that feeling and I remember Chris fondly for his respect and kindness, he was a gentle soul that will be missed.
Chris and the entire Wrinkle family are some of the most giving people that I have ever known. I am a better person from knowing Chris.
Dear Wrinkle Family,
You do not know me personally, and I honestly did not realize that I knew Chris (at the time), but I felt compelled to share my experiences regarding Chris because the smallest things in life can leave lasting impressions.
I work not far from Hyvee in Springfield, and I frequently go there for lunch. In the many times I've been there, I've run into an employee with glasses and a silver goatee that has always been extremely courteous, warm, talkative and genuine. He often made small talk with me as I paid for my lunch, simply asking how my day was going or how the food was. Regardless of the content of the conversation, it was never forced, and seemed to come from a place of genuine interest and kindness.
I was extremely saddened to realize that this kind man I had seen and talked with nearly every week was Chris. As a Lambda Chi myself, I was informed of his passing via an alum and I was shocked when I recognized his picture. It's not often that you meet a stranger in life that leaves an impression as being a genuine kind soul from such a small frame of reference, but I must say that Chris left such an impression on me. The character of a person overflows into every aspect of his or her life, including work. What little character I was able to glean from my brief interactions with Chris revealed great character.
Anyway, forgive me for rambling or not having anything overly personal or deep to share about Chris's life, but I know I probably speak for others that frequent Hyvee when I say that we will also miss Chris breaking up the monotony of our day-to-day routines in his own small way. I can't imagine the pain and shock you're dealing with, but I hope that the memories of Chris are able to provide at least some level of comfort and solace over the coming days, weeks and years.
Condolences.

Joey wanted to say thank you for playing video games with him. You always made him laugh! He will miss seeing you at Hy-Vee. P.S. He said the last thing you said to him was "You haven't watched Back to the Future??" He wanted you to know he did finally see it!!
Thinking of you all.
Deepest sympathies,
Gina, Will, Jack and June Branch
