Christopher D Wrinkle (Springfield)'s Obituary
Christopher Dean Wrinkle, son of Dean and Janice “Jani” Smith Wrinkle, was born October 8, 1967, in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, October 6, 2015, in his home, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of forty-seven years, eleven months, and twenty-eight days.
On August 6, 2005, he was united in marriage to Kimberly Louise Simpson, and they shared the last ten years.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Pearl Smith.
Christopher is survived by his loving wife, Kim, of the home; a daughter, Karsen Newman, of the home; a son, Kasen Wrinkle, of the home; his parents, Dean and Jani Wrinkle, of Springfield, Missouri; his paternal grandparents, Morgan and Lorene Wrinkle, of Bolivar, Missouri; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Connie Simpson, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a other relatives and a host of friends.
He was born in Springfield and was raised in the Pleasant Hope community. After graduating from Pleasant Hope High School, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Drury University, where he was an active member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He then began a career in journalism and worked for newspapers in Springfield, Ozark, Marshfield, Fort Smith, Hannibal, and was the editor of the Lebanon Daily Record for several years. He had also worked for the Springfield Business Journal at two different times. He later changed careers and was currently working as the manager of the pay station inside Hy-Vee’s in Springfield.
Chris had professed his faith in Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon. He was a very caring person and was always willing to help others.
He was an avid sports fan and especially liked the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. He also enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia. He loved music, especially his 80’s hits, and had played the trumpet in his high school band. He had volunteered at the PTA Clothing Bank, the Bee Hive Store at the Sunshine School and belonged to the Parkview Band Boosters Club. He loved his children dearly and enjoyed being a “Dad”.
Christopher was a loving husband, father, son, grandson, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Friends may call from Thursday afternoon until noon on Friday at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon.
