Corey W. Doublin (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Corey William Doublin, son of Frankie William Doublin and Anne Porter Darst, was born June 30, 1995, in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, September 26, 2020, in his home in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of twenty-five years, two months, and twenty-seven days.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William Doublin, Jr. and Lillian Doublin; and his maternal great-grandmother, Marie Kneebone..
Corey is survived by his father, Frankie Doublin, of Lebanon, Missouri; his mother, Anne Porter Darst, and her husband, Thomas, of Louisville, Kentucky; his maternal grandparents, Patrick and Billie Porter, of Neodesha, Kansas; an uncle, Michael Porter, and his wife, Karen, of Neodesha, Kansas; two aunts, Marilyn Crain, and her husband, Jimmy, and Robin Jones, and her husband, Kevin, all of Lebanon, Missouri; several cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 2014. While in high school, he played soccer and was a member of Future Farmers of America. He grew up working in the family’s restaurant where he learned to love the restaurant business. Corey enjoyed growing up on a farm where he cared for many different kinds of animals, especially his bottle babies. Serving others was learned at an early age through Lebanon Chamber of Commerce, Lebanon Soccer Association, Route 66 Museum, 4-H and Honor Flight. He continued to make his home in Lebanon, where he currently was employed by T’s Redneck Steak House and was a highly valued member of the staff.
Corey was active in 4-H, and soccer where he played and enjoyed refereeing so he could teach the younger kids throughout his younger years He enjoyed traveling and never met a stranger. He was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs Football team. He possessed a delightful sense of humor and was quite a jokester. His family was very important to him and he was always caring and friendly.
Corey was a loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and was a good friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories they have of him.
A memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020 at 10 a.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church in Lebanon. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon, Missouri. Burial will be in New Home Cemetery in Falcon.
