I had a great admiration for Helen Massey. She was the last person left that I remember who had lived in Phillipsburg since my youth. She was a kind and friendly person but when I heard the story of the time the Phillipsburg store store she had was robbed and how she foiled the crooks I realize she was also intelligent and tough. She mowed her own yard until recently and when she could no longer drive she drove her golf cart to the post office. I will miss seeing you out in your yard Helen as I drive by but know that our loss is Heaven's gain.
I've known Helen for a lot of years, she watched my kids grow up in Phillipsburg. We'd walk by her home and she'd be working in her yard, would always stop and visit with us... good precious memories. She will be remembered by many. Prayers for comfort and peace the entire family.
Helen was always so nice to all the kids, I remember her at the store on the corner. I bet she is having a great time with all the pburg people, especially her son Jerry.
Mrs Helen was a wonderful friend to my sister Linda I always took my kids to Helen for Halloween when they were small. She is rejoicing up in heaven with my sister!
