Estrellita "Lita" Lazo Davis (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Estrellita “Lita” Lazo Davis, age 78 of Lebanon, Missouri, passed away in
Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She was born May 18, 1944 in San Quentin,
Philippines to Esteban L. Lazo and Marie Norada Lazo.
Lita was born during World War II. Her parents had to escape as the
Japanese were invading the Philippines and they took their family, including their
infant daughter Lita, to the jungle area of their home country. They eventually were
able to move back to their home and Lita attended school in San Quentin.
Following graduation, she enrolled in University of the East and graduated with a
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She worked at the Veteran’s
Administration in Manila, Philippines and then transferred to the USAID in
Vietnam. She also worked at the United States Embassy in Manila, Philippines. It
was there she met Bob Davis, who was working as a United States Marine Security
Guard. They fell in love and were married August 9, 1975.
Following their marriage, as a Marine wife, Lita followed her husband
around the globe before they eventually moved back to Camp Pendleton where
Lita served as a secretary for the Commanding Officer at the Marine Corp Air
Station until her retirement in 2015.
Lita was preceded in death by her parents and a number of brothers and
sisters.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Robert “Bob” Davis, Jr.
of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Robert “Bobby” Davis III, of Fallbrook, California;
her daughter, Marilyn M. Williams of Perris, California; five grandchildren,
Ashleigh Wagner, McKenna de Wit, Robert “Joey” Davis, IV, Claire Davis and
Evelyn Davis; three brothers, Manual “Manny” Lazo and Salvador “Badge” Lazo,
both of Fontana, California; and Amante “Manz” Lazo of Los Angeles, California.
Lita was a dedicated wife and loving mother. She will be greatly missed by
her family and will be remembered for years to come.
