Evelyn V. Burk (Seymour)'s Obituary
Evelyn Vaughn Burk, age 89 of Seymour, Missouri slipped away to be with Jesus on Thursday April 11, 2019. She was born July 26, 1929 in Monument, Kansas to Eddie James Lee and Nita Mable (Sharp) Lee.
She was a godly prayer warrior who lived a Holy life and loved her Savior. Our mother has gone to be with Jesus. She waits for us there!
She gave her heart to Jesus when she was 11 years old and was a member of the Bible Missionary Church in Springfield, Missouri at the time of her death.
Mother’s early years were in the flat, wheat country of Kansas. It included dust storms, blizzards and jack rabbits. The family then moved to West Plains where she graduated from high school and met Jack Michael Burk, and they were happily married in 1948.
She enjoyed their nomadic life of moving around the state of Missouri building bridges. Born to their happy union were three children: Stephen Michael Burk in 1950, Carolyn Ruth (Burk) Bricker in 1951 and Mary Elizabeth (Burk) Dillon in 1959. She has one mischievous sister Rosemary (Lee) Owens of Springfield, Missouri. She has 10 grandchildren and 24 lively great grandchildren whom she prayed for daily.
