I met Miss Eve in August 1991 when she was working at the Army Community Services on Ft Leonard Wood. We had just arrived from Germany and needed a few items to hold us over until our household goods arrived. She helped me with getting registered and picking out the necessary items. She was such a great lady and she had me laughing so hard. She told me to come back once we got settled in and volunteer. So I did. We got together over the years for bbq and music. She and her former husband John made beautiful music together. She had a beautiful sweet voice. When Demo was graduating from one of his USMC schools at Quantico VA we got in her car and we drove from Potosi Missouri to Quantico Virginia to be there to watch him graduate. She was my first friend here at Ft Leonard Wood, and my dearest. We kept in touch over the years, but not as well as we could have, and through moves to new locations. We just moved back to the area in 2020 and we were trying to make plans to get together for lunch. Miss Eve will always be in my heart and my prayers. I can hear her telling me "everything is gonna be ok".
