Fred L. Plake (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Freddie Leroy Plake, son of Louis Ranford and Dolly Mae Hanson Plake, was born December 21, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri.  He departed this life Thursday, April 5, 2018, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, three months, and fourteen days.
On August 21, 2001, he was united in marriage to Ellyn Joan Magrin Peterson, and they shared the last sixteen years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dixie Plake; several brothers; and a sister, Linda.
Fred is survived his wife, Ellyn, of the home; two sons, Jeffery Scott Plake, and his wife, Kimberly, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, David Owen Plake, and his wife, Heather, of House Springs, Missouri; three grandchildren, Symone Swift, Jeffery Plake, Jr., and Margaret Coleen Plake; several nieces and nephews; as well as  host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the St. Louis, Missouri area, and graduated from Roosevelt High School.  He then entered the military as a young man and served his country faithfully in the United States Army for two years.  While in the Army he was stationed in Germany for part of that time.  He then worked in sales for several years, before becoming disabled at the age of forty-two.
Fred was an active member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church and was 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans and enjoyed fly fishing at Bennett Spring.  He also enjoyed being a member of the Peace Pantry in Cedar Hills.
Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend.  We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations to the Knights of Columbus at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church may be made through the funeral home.
