Freda Eileen Hightower (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Freda Eileen Hightower, daughter of Willie and Francis “Etter” Randolph Davis, was born March 14, 1926, in Laclede County, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, February 17, 2021, in Overland Park, Kansas, at the age of ninety-four years, eleven months, and three days.
On June 26, 1944, she was united in marriage to Noel Hightower and they shared seventy-two years before his passing in 2017.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Hershel, Lansford, and Erman Davis; and her beloved sister, Irene Davis Long.
Eileen is survived by a daughter, LaVona Hightower Chambers, and her husband, David; a son, Larry Hightower, and his wife, Denise Cross; three grandchildren, Scott Chambers, Julie Chambers, and Megan Hightower Martins, and her husband, Daniel; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Laclede County, Missouri. After she and Noel were married, they made their home near Lebanon, Missouri, and lovingly raised their children. Eileen was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family throughout the years. After Noel’s passing, Eileen moved to Kansas City, Missouri.
Eileen made her profession of faith in Christ and was baptized into the Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church near Grovespring, Missouri. She served as church secretary for several years.
Eileen was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
A memorial service will be held in Lebanon, Missouri at Holman-Howe Funeral Home Saturday, June 26 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Shaddy Cemetery, or Cornerstones of Care in Kansas City at www.cornerstonesofcare.org or the charity of your choice.
