Garry R. Decker (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Garry R. Decker, son of Garry R. Decker, Sr. and Louise Wilson Decker, was born June 17, 1959, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, September 13, 2020, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-one years, two months, and twenty-seven days.
On April 21, 2018, he was united in marriage to Tammy Henderson, and they shared the last two years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Margaret Fohn, and Kim Herod.
Garry is survived by his wife, Tammy, of the home; two daughters, Terri Thelander, and her husband, Travis, Jessica Decker, and her special friend, Zachary Michael, and Amanda Nichols, who Garry thought of as his daughter, all of Lebanon, Missouri; two grandchildren, Spencer Ruble, and Cota Nichols; two brothers, Brent Decker, and his wife, Sabrina, of Richland, Missouri, and Steve Decker, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Doris Keen, and her husband, Bobby, of Sullivan, Missouri, Paula Jones, and Donna Hutsell, and her husband, Gary, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area, and then lived the rest of his life near Lebanon. He worked in the timber and saw mill business and drove a long haul truck for many years.
Garry made his profession of faith in Christ and was baptized in October of 2019 at Moon Valley. He was a strong believer in Jesus and always liked listening and singing to gospel music.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activity was fishing. He especially loved his annual trip to Minnesota with his brother-in-law, Bobby. He was a big jokester and was full of stories that he shared with his family and friends. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Garry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
