On October 25, 1969, he was united in marriage to Marianne Christine Fuss, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Frank Eberle.
Gene is survived by his loving wife, Marianne, of the home; two sons, Mark Eberle, and his wife, Carrie, and Michael Eberle, all of Jefferson City, Missouri; a daughter, Melissa Fox, and her husband, Eric, of Columbus, Ohio; a granddaughter, Krista Fox; four brothers, Joe Eberle, of Dixon, Missouri, Jim Eberle, of Jefferson City, Missouri, John Eberle, of the State of Virginia, and Pete Eberle, of Clarkton, Missouri; two sisters, Mary Bauer, of the State of Texas, and Joyce Eberle, of Clarkton, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Belleville, Illinois, and then moved with his family to the Roby, Missouri area. After he and Marianne were married, they made their home near Plato, Missouri, and lovingly raised their family. Gene worked in various positions for the Army and Airforce Exchange Service at Fort Leonard Wood for fifty-four years, retiring in March of 2019.
Gene had made his profession of belief in Christ and followed the Christian faith.
In his spare time he enjoyed doing woodworking projects and was a gifted builder. He was a ham radio operator and liked building electronic things. He was also interested in solar and wind power. He was self taught and had no formal training in any of these things. He had a wonderful sense of humor and liked to laugh. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed time with his children and granddaughter.
Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the special memories he made for them during his life time.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday May 18th at 2 p.m. at New Life Ministries, 13894 Hwy 17, Plato, Mo.
