On July 1, 1955, she was united in marriage to Calvin Odis Maynor, and to this union five sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Calvin, on January 14, 2001; a son, Wayne Steven Maynor; and a brother, Gerald Thompson.
Jerry is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Bonita Maynor, Brian and Terrie Maynor, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Bruce and Mimi Maynor, of Thousand Oaks, California, and Wesley and Sharon Maynor, of Howard, Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren, Steven, Calvin, Kimberly, Danelle, Skyler, Kyle, Ryan, Kayden, Carson, and Teague; a great-grandchild, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in San Diego, California, and graduated from high school there. She met Calvin while he was serving in the United States Navy and was stationed in San Diego. Once they were married, they moved to Oxnard, California, where they lovingly raised their sons. In addition to being a devoted homemaker, Jerry also worked for the City of San Diego, and then as a typist for the Oxnard School District. After retiring in 1992, she and Calvin followed two of their sons to Lebanon, Missouri, and made their home.
In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and doing cross-stitch projects. Her family was always foremost in her life and she lovingly cared for her husband and her mother during their last years. She fought her illness gallantly and never let it get her down. She was a kind and sweet lady that especially enjoyed family events.
Jerry was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
