I am truly sorry to hear about Jeff. We ran together a little in Junior High and High School. I remember one time Jeff, Doug Myers and myself were in Stan Adkins' biology class and we had a field trip to a prairie preserve somewhere around Mattoon. We had bought some Swisher Sweet cigars and took them on the field trip. Once off the bus, we wer instructed to roam this preserve and collect various specimens. Jeff, Doug and I found a place beyond the railroad tracks nearby that we could hide and smoke the cigars. We stayed until we heard Stan whistle that it was time to go. We hadn't picked one specimen, so as we ran back to the bus we quickly took an assortment of plants that we came across.
