Jeff Adkins (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jeffrey Alan Adkins, son of Dr. Lewis Eugene and Helen J. Rook Adkins, was born January 27, 1955, in Charleston, Illinois. He departed this life Wednesday, November 23, 2011, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-six years, nine months, and twenty-six days.
On June 16, 1989, he was united in marriage to Nancy Beth Rock, and they shared the last twenty-two years.
His father preceded him in death; also a niece, Paige Adkins.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Nancy, of the home; his mother, Helen Adkins, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Ed Adkins, and his wife, Debbie, of Ashland, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; a number of cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Charleston, Illinois, and graduated from Charleston High School. He then earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Southern Illinois University, in Carbondale, Illinois. He received his real estate license and began a career in real estate and land development. In 1989, he and Nancy moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and made their home. Jeff worked for both ReMax Real Estate and Compton Realty in Lebanon. He also developed sub divisions including Green Valley Ridge Estates and Rolling Hills Subdivision.
Jeff made his profession of faith in Christ at the age of six, and was raised in the Baptist faith.
In his spare time he enjoyed traveling and was a fan of NASCAR and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. He truly loved animals and was supportive of the Lebanon Humane Society. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Jeff was a loving husband, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family will treasure the memories he made for them throughout the
