I will always remember the first time I met Aunt Hovie. My husband and I visited her in the old house in Eldridge and she told us we were having Bert's favorite dinner--fried chicken. Little did I know that she would pick up a hatchet, go out back (yes we went with her), grab a chicken by the head, lay him on a stump and whack off its head! I almost couldn't eat the chicken, although it was mighty good. I loved that woman and Uncle Don. She always had the biggest smile and the brightest eyes that just seemed to twinkle with mischief. I will truly miss her. Prayers and sympathy goes out to her family.
Aunt Joehova was the most loving, kind, giving aunt of my husband, George "Bryan" Moore's side of the family. I always loved visiting her when we went down to Missouri. She will live on in our hearts. God bless her family with comforting love in their time of grief.
