Joehova Cantrell (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Joehova Cantrell, daughter of Thomas and Ethel Allen Moore, was born May 29, 1923, in Laclede County, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, May 31, 2017, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of ninety-four years, and two days.
On September 12, 1942, she was united in marriage to Don Galvin Cantrell, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don, on July 14, 2010; a son, Don Cantrell, Jr.; and ten brothers and sisters.
Joehova is survived by a daughter, Linda Smith, and her husband, Jerry, of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kevin Smith, and his wife, Christine, of LeClaire, Iowa, Steven Smith, and his wife, Jennifer, of Camdenton, Missouri, Bobbi Woolsey, and her husband, Jeff, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Deidra Sickmeier, and her husband, John, of Camdenton, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Haley, Hannah, Lily, Samantha, and Madison; a great-great-grandchild, Juliette; a number of nieces and nephews, including two special nephews, Johnny Nevills, and Randy Moore; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Laclede County, Missouri. After she and Don were married, they made their home on their dairy farm near Long Lane, Missouri, and lovingly raised their family. The family then moved to a farm near Eldridge, Missouri, where they lived for over twenty-five years. Through the years, Joehova was a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her husband and family.
Joehova had made her profession of faith in Christ and was baptized into the Ira Church.
She loved living in the country and enjoyed having a garden each year. She was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful cook and enjoyed making special recipes for her family. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joehova was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her ninety-four years.
Memorials have been established for the Ira Cemetery Fund and can be left at the funeral home.
