Juanita Wolken (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Juanita Anne Wolken, daughter of Carl “Jack” William and Juanita Davis Holler, was born February 27, 1945, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She departed this life Friday, July 15, 2022, in Mercy Hospital, in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years, four months, and eighteen days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Frances Fae Chaffin.
Juanita is survived by three daughters, Shaela Jones, and her husband, Tony, of Springfield, Missouri, Marci Palmer, and her husband, Greg, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Kara Marsden, and her husband, Peter, of Memphis, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Ella and Ava Marsden; two brothers, Bill Holler, and his wife, Pamela, of San Antonio, Texas, and Jim Holler, of Belton, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; extended family, Edna Boston and Kathlene Hagel, both of Elkland, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in various locations as her father was serving in the Air Force and graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She then earned her Bachelor’s degree from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. She began a career in education as a teacher in Stoutland and Lebanon, Missouri. After retiring, she did some substitute teaching and tutoring for a few years.
Juanita made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was an active member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Lebanon. Her faith was central in her life.
She enjoyed eating with her Lunch Bunch Friends frequently. She encouraged reading to children and enjoyed reading herself. She also liked doing cross stitch, was a wonderful cook, enjoyed music, and liked to take naps. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren.
Juanita was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories she made for them during her lifetime.
