While on R&R in Australia, my Uncle Larry bought me a koala teddy bear. I slept with Teddy all through grade school and even snuck him in my sleeping back on an overnight field trip to Greenfield Village. Over time, he was so well loved, he ended up with only had one eye and all his fur was gone, but I loved him. I still have Teddy and this gift from over 50 years ago still warms my heart.

Larry is my wife (Geralyn)’s uncle. From the first time I met him, I felt like he was an old friend. He was welcoming and friendly, and I was always glad to see him. His gentle grace reminded me of my own father. I always hoped he and my Dad could meet, and now I suspect they have.
Larry, may God bless you in your passing, and thank you for all the kindness you extended to my dear wife. As for me, knowing you has been a privilege.
