He was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area. As a young man, he joined the United States Army, and served as a combat engineer in the 293rd Engineering Battalion, during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged as a Corporal in the Army on May 11, 1955, he returned to Lebanon. Once Lloyd and Ruth were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their sons. Throughout the years, he worked as a carpenter doing building construction.
Lloyd had professed his faith in Christ and was an active member of Flatwoods Bible Church. His special ministry was through his carpentry, repairing and taking care of the church building.
In his spare time he enjoyed drag racing in the 1960’s, riding dirt bikes, and racing dune buggies. He had built a cabin in the woods, and loved his catfish pond. He was a compassionate person who would often stop what he was doing to help someone in need. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lloyd was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
