Lola Dickinson (Hartville)'s Obituary
Lola Elizabeth Dickinson, daughter of John Jackson and Florence Elizabeth Richart, was born February 17, 1932 in Russ, Missouri. She departed this life, January 25, 2017 at her home in Hartville at the age of eighty-four years, eleven months, and eight days, surrounded by her loving family.
Lola made a profession of faith in Christ at an early age and attended Hill Top, Sunshine, and in later years, Little Creek Baptist Church with her children when health permitted. She loved her Lord and proudly sang his praise daily and was so ready for the great pearly gates. Lola was a farm girl and spent her younger years living in the Russ community.
On January 16, 1950 Lola was united in marriage to Charles William Dickinson and to this union seven children were born. They spent thirty-one years together before his passing on October 28, 1981.
Lola was a homemaker and took great pride in raising her children in a loving home. She made a huge garden yearly and canned her vegetables as long as her health allowed. She loved to play dominos regularly and few could beat her at checkers. Nothing could compare to the precious time spent with her loving children.
Lola leaves to mourn her passing four sons, Charles David, Eddie and his wife Ann, Kenny and his wife Linda, and Allen and his wife Glynda, all of Hartville. Three daughters, Judy and Pam Dickinson and Myrna Wakefield and her husband Wendell, all of Hartville. Twelve grandchildren, Chuck, Michael, Shandalyn, John, Allyson, Ashlynne, David and his wife Erin Dickinson, Jennifer Fletcher and her husband Caleb, and Christina Dedmon and her husband Gene, all of Hartville, Sonja Taylor and her husband Scott, of Lebanon, Tory Shaver and her husband, Josh of Grovespring, Jason Rost and his wife Sunny of Marshfield.
Twenty great-grandchildren, Megan, Bryna, Gavin, Claire, Kalissa, Damiean, Kinsley, Garrytt, Karaline, Johnny, Josie, Oliver, Elliott, Hunter, Kennedy, Jaxon, Bo, Stetson, Tucker, Kaylee, and one great-great grandchild, Gracelynn.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence Richart, her loving husband, Charley, three brothers, Charley, Bill and George, three sisters, Mary Ann, Alice, and Ethel, one granddaughter, Sarah Beth, and one daughter in law, Martha.
Lola had a special friend, Carol Trusty, who went beyond the call of friendship.
What a story to tell in eighty-four years. A wonderful Christian, doting mother, cherished sister, fun loving grandma, and a true loyal friend. What a life she lived and the legacy she leaves behind will be forever cherished.
