I knew Mike when I was in Korea from 1994-1998 and he was my Karate instructor for 3 years. There is not a single person on earth who was as kind, talented, intelligent, trustworthy, and generous as my sensei and life teacher, Mike Nutter aka "Ryebone". He was a teacher, a musician (guitar, fiddle, and banjo), he had a sweet melodic voice when he sang and you could listen to him all day. He was a carpenter, an artist, a graphic designer, a comedian, an author, a computer whiz, an electrician, a badass hillbilly, but his greatest talent was that he was a true friend who would do anything for anybody. One of the truest friends I have ever had - a cosmopolitan hillbilly and a wonderful gentleman. Somewhere in heaven angels are singing with Mike and Mike is dressed as his alter-ego, Ryebone playing the fiddle and goofing off with his wings flapping sideways.
I had not seen Mikey for 22 years, but I will never, EVER forget him. Rest in peace Sensei, I will see you in celestial dojo above and take my black belt test.
