Michael J. Nutter (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Michael Jackson Nutter, son of Jackson C. and Jewel Moore Nutter, was born December 7, 1953, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, July 29, 2020, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-six years, seven months, and twenty-two days.
On January 1, 2011, he was united in marriage to Kathy Marie Burris, and they shared the last nine years.
He was preceded in death by his father; and two sisters, Peggy Doyle and Rhonda Morris.
Michael is survived by his wife, Kathy, of the home; a daughter, Emily Jacquelyn Nutter, of the State of Georgia; five sons, Josh Nutter, Jeremiah Nutter, both of Lebanon, Missouri, Christopher Farris, of Salem, Missouri, Johnny Farris, of Ellington, Missouri, and David Hinsel, of Lebanon, Missouri; his mother, Jewel Nutter, of Stoutland, Missouri; a sister, Jeannie Wagner, of Stoutland, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Stoutland, Missouri community and graduated from Stoutland High School. He then attended Southwest Baptist University and completed his studies at Missouri State University where he earned his teaching certificate. He began teaching at the Plato Schools and then went to Ravenwood Schools. For over ten years, he taught in South Korea.
Michael had attended Prosperine Baptist Church at various times in his life.
He was very involved in martial arts for a number of years, until becoming disabled. He then did sign painting and woodworking. He had a love of music and played the guitar, banjo, and fiddle. He enjoyed being outdoors in the woods and liked frog hunting. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them.
Michael was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
