Joan was a special lady whose presence has enriched and blessed my life. Joan became a dear friend and I will cherish the time I was able to spend with her. We shared a love for our dogs, Daisy and Marley. I will always remember our time spent together sitting on the porch swing with hummingbirds buzzing around our heads as we watched Daisy and Marley explore the yard. Daisy was always trying to show Marley how to be a farm dog. Daisy was determined to sniff out a mole, hunt for a turtle, or wrangle a snake. Marley was happy just running around the yard, enjoying the fresh air, and soaking up the sun. It was obvious that Daisy was a country dog and Marley was a city dog! My fondest memory of all is of Joan and me sitting in the kitchen sipping tea and devouring our favorite meal of fried catfish while Daisy and Marley gazed up at us in hope that some small morsel would fall to the floor. Their little puppy dog eyes would coax Joan and me to slip each dog a taste or two. Joan will always have a special place in my heart and I feel honored to have known her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family as they go through this difficult time.
