Paul Elward Stark left us to be with his Lord and Savior on August 27, 2018. He was 94 years old. Paul is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Friburg and her husband David of Walnut Creek, California, Susan Smith and her husband E Read Obituary
My family and I are eternally grateful for Mr. Stark, his wife, and family. We lived across the street on Nob Hill Drive. We had many years of fun watching football games together, a full summer where my sister and I stayed at their home, and the memories of a man who was kind and generous with his time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Stark family and we will always cherish our times together. Love to all from David, Elizabeth, Deborah, and our mom Suzanne.
MEMORIES OF PAUL STARK.
Paul and his wife Margorie were valued friends of mine since the mid 1960’s
when I was lucky enough to meet them when on what we call in New Zealand
an overseas experience. This evolved into a long-term friendship enhanced by
spending time with the Stark’s at Berlin Shropshires farm and occasionally
staying at the Stark’s home in Walnut Creek . One very memorable time was
when I was doing a study tour in the USA and I based myself with Stark’s . My
studies took me to many parts of the country. I spent some specific time
looking at the establishment and management of the Walnut Creek Open space
while staying with the Stark’s. It was during such visits I came to realise what
a caring and thoughtful person Paul was and great company to be with.
My enjoyment of movies was enhanced by his large collection of videos. I also
shared his and Margories interest in birds and we exchanged Bird Calendars
each year.
I will remember Paul as a good friend and a special person as I am sure many
will.
My thoughts and sympathy go out to the Stark family and all those who have
lost a good friend with the passing of Paul.

Dear treasured neighbors, Oh my, how he filled our lives every day with kindness and neighborly deeds. He was such a nice person, and when we were children, lo those man-years ago, he was never too busy to stop and talk, and show us how to do things, and take us swimming at Terrace Pool. He was kind of a Mr. Rogers on Nob Hill Drive. I have sweet memories and and his wonderful writings to bring me back to those days. He's in heaven now with his dear Marjorie. Mr. Stark was a client of ours here at Sunshine Animal Hospital for many, many years. We adored him as a person and as a pet owner. He always has a sparkle in his eye, especially when talking about his beagles, Miriam and Checkers. I will miss (and have missed) speaking to him on the phone and in person. Rest in peace dear Mr. Stark. Susan and family, you have our deepest sympathies for the loss of this kind man.
