Perry L. Street (Seymour)'s Obituary
Perry Leon Street, 61, of Mansfield, Missouri, passed away March 19, 2020, at Mercy Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. The youngest of six children, he was born December 20, 1958, to James and Bessie Street. On June 3, 1978, Perry was united in marriage to Elizabeth Keeling and to this union one son was born.
He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved stepfather, Glenn ‘Bo’ Dickson, and one sister, Janet Sanders. He is survived by Liz, his wife of 41 years; one son, Joshua Street and wife, Gwen, and grandson, Dawson, all of Rogersville, Missouri; one sister, Joann Wormington and husband, Ralph, of Diggins, Missouri; three brothers, Ron Street and wife, Pam, of Joplin, Missouri, Jim Street and wife, Delphine, of Valdosta, Georgia, Gerald Street and wife, Phung, of Diggins; two stepbrothers, Ron Dickson and wife, Pamela, Richard Dickson and wife, Sandy; one stepsister, Virginia Truitt and husband, Tony; aunts, uncles, several nieces and nephews; and many more dear co-workers, friends and neighbors. Perry graduated from Seymour High School in 1977, and immediately went to work for Se-Ma-No Electric Cooperative in Mansfield, Missouri. He was very dedicated to his job, starting with a position in Right of Way Maintenance and rising through the ranks to Operations Manager. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for many years. In his spare time, Perry loved being with his family, cooking special meals, and watching the Saint Louis Cardinals. He had an exceptionally close relationship with his son and grandson, and together they enjoyed boating, fishing, and living the lake life. Perry was of the Christian faith and also a longtime member of the Hazelwood Masonic Lodge in Seymour, Missouri. He was a devoted husband, the best father, a wonderful ‘Peeps’ to his grandson, and a beloved friend to many. We celebrate his life and know he will be remembered with a smile from privileged to have known him. Due to restrictions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, interment will be in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery, Seymour, Missouri, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home and will be graveside and limited to immediate family only. A memorial service to fellowship with family, friends and co-workers will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers or food, contributions can be made in Perry’s memory to the American Cancer Society. The funeral home will remain open for guests to sign his register book and walk-through viewing.
