Raymond Jack Husselton (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Raymond Jack Husselton, son of Roy and Birdie Frank Husselton, was born March 6, 1927, in Miami, Florida. He departed this life Friday, February 17, 2017, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, eleven months, and eleven days.
On February 11, 1956, he was united in marriage to Alma Bernice Reithemeyer, and to this union two daughters were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Donna Morris; a granddaughter, Kristen Morris; and a brother, Roy Husselton.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Alma, of the home; a daughter, Patricia Williams, and her husband, Stanley, of Des Moines, Iowa; a step-daughter, Lenice Barker, of Overland Park Kansas; three grandchildren, Jessica, and her husband Joel, Stanley Williams, and Crystal, and her husband, Rex; five great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Miami, Florida, and was raised in the Titusville, Florida area where he graduated from Titusville High School. Upon graduating from high school, Raymond entered the United States Navy and faithfully served his country during World War II in Okinawa, Japan. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Raymond moved to the Kansas City area and worked in the auto upholstery business for several years. For the last forty-seven years Raymond and Alma made the home in Lebanon, Missouri. Raymond owned and operated Heritage Furniture and Appliances in downtown Lebanon for a number of years.
Raymond made his profession of faith in Christ and was an active member of the Southern Heights Christian Church. He had served in all aspects of the church work including serving as a Deacon and helping in the bus ministry.
Among his many hobbies, Raymond enjoyed being a pilot and he loved fishing and boating. His favorite sports teams were the St. Louis Cardinals and the Missouri Tigers. He had a sweet tooth for ice cream, and dearly loved spending time with his dogs.
Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and will be deeply missed. His family and friends can be comforted by the wonderful memories he made for them over the years and will cherish them in their hearts forever.
