Rev. Paul Buchanan (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Paul Wesley Buchanan, son of Isaiah and Bertie Buchanan, was born on April 12, 1920 in Moberly, Missouri and left this earthly life on August 21, 2013 at the age of 93.
On August 21, 1940, Paul married his sweetheart, Eva Mae Mays who preceded him in death on May 24, 1991.
Paul is survived by one son, Rev. Terry Buchanan of Mansfield, Missouri; two daughters, Judy Dellepere of Wauchula, Florida, and Patsy Klontz of Joplin, Missouri; one brother, Harold Buchanan of Brooksville, Florida; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Gary Paul. He was a father and grandfather figure to many others with whom he shared his love.
Paul and Eva Mae pastored the Mansfield Church of the Nazarene for thirty-three years, retiring in 1985 to enjoy their retirement years gardening and enjoying nature on the Plum Nellie Farm in Mansfield.
During Paul's ministry, he nurtured many people within his church as well as in the community. Several answered God's call to full-time Christian ministry, a testimony to Paul's love and faithfulness. He will be remembered as a man fully devoted to God.
Besides Paul's passion for God, his family, and his friends, he loved gardening, fishing, and collecting antiques. He was also well-known for his love of story telling.
Though Paul will be greatly missed, we rejoice that he is at home in heaven, free from pain and sorrow.
