Richard W. Krecl (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Richard William Krecl, age 60, departed this life October 31, 2014 at Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri, after a lingering illness.
Richard was born on the 4th of July, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York, the fourth of seven sons born to Joseph and Kathleen Tulloch Krecl. The family moved to Westbury, Long Island, New York, where Richard received his education. He enjoyed and excelled in a number of sports and was affectionately called “Moose” by his football fans. He graduated from W. Tresper Clarke High School in 1973.
For twenty one years, from 1976 to 1997, Richard was a conductor on the Long Island Rail Road. He received a number of commendations for outstanding service rendered above and beyond customary performance responsibilities. Several coworkers faithfully shared the gospel with Richard which resulted in his acceptance of the Lord Jesus as his personal Savior in December, 1986. An early retirement was taken in 1997, and Richard moved to Springfield, Missouri to attend Bible College where he met his future wife, Malinda Malaise Lewright. The couple graduated in May 2002, and was married July 14, 2002 at West Division Street Baptist Church, in Springfield, Missouri.
Richard and his bride lived in the Dallas, Texas area from 2002 to 2010, while training, preparing, and raising support for vocational, missionary ministry. Richard served under two pastors while in Texas, R.D. Wade, of First Baptist in Meadowview, and Steve Foster of New Heights Baptist in Wylie. The couple received additional training and facilitation through their mission board, International Board of Jewish missions, in Hixson, Tennessee.
Richard’s illness eventually prevented continuation of anticipated goals, and the couple moved to southwest Missouri to be nearer family. They joined Wilson Creek Baptist Church of Brookline, Missouri, Randall Moody, pastor, and were lovingly ministered to there.
He is survived by his wife of twelve years, Malinda Lewright Krecl; stepson, Derrick Lewright, and wife, Amber; grandchildren, Hayden, Samuel, and Emilia Lewright, all of Bolivar; five brothers, Bob Krecl, of Hawaii, Jim Krecl, and wife Kris, of New York, Joe Krecl, of Hawaii, Dave Krecl, and wife Catherine, of New York, Lee Krecl, of Colorado; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents; and his brother, John Krecl, third born sibling.
Memorial contributions may be made to the International Board of Jewish Missions, P.O. Box 1386, Hixson, Tennessee, 37343.
