Robert E Conway (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Robert Edmond Conway, son of Claude and Dora Dean Zimmerman Conway, was born September 13, 1939, in Wellington, Kansas. He departed this life Saturday, June 7, 2014, in the Buffalo Prairie Care Center, in Buffalo, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, eight months, and twenty-four days.
On January 25, 1958, he was united in marriage to Audrey Catherine Boren, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Cody Posten; and a sister, Mary Beth Sanderson.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Audrey, of the home; a daughter Melinda Posten, and her husband, Eddie, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Robert Conway, and his partner, David Fransworth, of Lancaster, California, and Mike Conway, and his wife, Kelli, of Lebanon, Missouri; a grandson, Chet Posten, of Springfield, Missouri; a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Kansas, but was raised in California where his father worked for the railroad. After he and Audrey were married, they continued to live in California until moving to Missouri in 1974. They soon made their home on their cattle farm in the Crossroads community, near Lebanon. In addition to operating the cattle farm, Bob also worked for the Durham Company for several years, and then worked for Vernon and Sons, Inc. Later, he worked for Mi-Kel Industries until retiring.
Bob enjoyed caring for his farm and cattle, and also liked raising and training Quarter horses. He had also operated heavy equipment throughout the years, and enjoyed doing woodworking projects. His family was very important to him and he was very proud of his children and especially his grandson.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his seventy-four years.
Memorial donations to the Buffalo Prairie Care Alzheimer's Unit or Crossroads Cemetery may be made through the funeral home.
