Robert Lee Hicks (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Longtime dairy farmer Robert Lee Hicks, age seventy-four, passed away suddenly Sunday evening, December 22, 2024, as the result of a farming accident on his farm in Conway, Missouri. Robert was born in Conway on September 8, 1950 to Earl and Juanita Green Hicks.
Robert grew up in Conway and was a graduate of Conway High School. He worked on the family farm, which one day became his dairy farm.
At a young age, Robert had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He was a member at Second Baptist Church for several years before joining First Baptist Church in Conway.
His life rotated around his dairy farm, an industry he worked in and loved for over sixty years. He was dedicated to the cows and was proud of the top-notch operation he had established. He was awarded “Farmer of the Year” and was honored with a ceremony in Columbia, Missouri. He was also awarded “Cleanest Milk in the Nation” by KRAFT.
He loved gardening when time allowed. He was also willing to help anyone that needed him by sharing his time and resources.
He is survived by his loving companion and best friend, Barbara Hicks; his daughter, Katrina Chablé of Billings, Missouri; his son, Robin Hicks of Springfield, Missouri; his grandson Kanyon Chablé of Billings, Missouri; his brother, Larry Hicks of Conway, Missouri; and two sisters, Sue Medling of Laveen, Arizona and Connie Miller of Phillipsburg, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Juanita; and two sisters, Jo and Carol; and an infant brother, Everett Hicks.
Robert had a good sense of humor and loved to tease. He had a nickname for each of the special people in his life.
Robert was a wonderful father, brother and Doodaw. We celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by an enduring commitment to dairy farming and a profound love for his family and community. His was a life that exemplified leadership that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Robert’s memory will be treasured forever in the hearts of his family, friends and the many lives he touched.
Funeral service for Robert Hicks will be Monday, Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon, MO. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, Dec. 29 from 3 – 4:30 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roper Cemetery.
