Bob Lowery had a profound and lasting impact on my life. He kindled my love for science and inspired a sense of wonder at the universe. He was a mentor to me when I most needed one in my young life.

I will never forget his Brylcreemed hair, 'Colonel Sanders' goatee, booming voice, disarming and unexpectedly absurd sense of humor, and his unwavering refusal to ever be upstaged by disrespectful punk kids.

Bob, you were a distinguished gentleman, an extraordinary teacher, and an inspiration to the children whose lives you touched. You were one of a kind, and you are missed. I will NEVER forget you, I promise. Rest in peace, old friend.
