Susan Peterson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Susan Elizabeth Kendrew-Peterson, daughter of Russell and Julia Sawyer Jollymore, was born April 2, 1941, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. She departed this life Tuesday, February 27, 2018, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-six years, ten months, and twenty-five days.
Early in her life, she was united in marriage to Thomas Kendrew, and to this union two daughters and one son were born. Thomas passed away in 1985.
On May 1, 1994, she was united in marriage to John L. Peterson, and they shared the last twenty-three years.
Her parents also preceded her in death.
Susan is survived by her husband, John, of the home; two daughters, Tammy Deyo, and her husband, Michael, of Enfield, New Hampshire, and Sherry Kendrew-Bean, and her husband, Kenneth Bean, of Grafton, New Hampshire; three sons, Mark Kendrew, and his wife, Donna, of Ripley, Maine, William Peterson, and his wife, Sharon, of Windham, New Hampshire, and David Peterson, of Nashua, New Hampshire; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters, Geraldine Howard, of Albany, Ohio, Donna McConnell, and Pearl McConnell, both of Winchendon, Massachusetts; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Massachusetts and graduated from Winchendon High School. After she and Thomas were married they made their home in Winchendon, Massachusetts and lovingly raised their children. Besides being a devoted homemaker and mother, Susan was employed by Teleflex for several years. The family then moved to Rindge, New Hampshire and made their home. Susan earned her cosmetology license and worked as a hair stylist for a number of years. After she and John were married, they continued to live in New Hampshire for several years before moving to Lebanon, Missouri in 2009.
Susan was baptized into the Methodist faith as a child.
She enjoyed sewing and doing crafts of all kinds, but what she dearly loved was making quilts. She had made a large number of quilts over the years and had given many to family members and friends. She liked taking rides in the country, and visiting with her family and friends. She also loved her dogs. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Susan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
