William Allen Francis' Obituary
WIlliam "Billy" Allen Francis, son of William Allen Francis, Sr. and Reba Camille Strickland Francis was born January 16, 1942 in Sacramento, California. He departed this life, Sunday, May 23, 2010 in Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour, Missouri at the age of sixty-eight years, four months, and seven days.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and had served during the Vietnam War.
Billy grew up in Mobile, Alabama and began playing music in his pre-teen years and played keyboard and sang with Dr. Hook and The Medicine Show, a rock band, during the 1960's and 70's. The band had been featured in the Rolling Stone Magazine. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing at Roaring Rivers and golfing.
He was preceded in death by both his parents.
Billy is survived by his daughter, Danielle Francis of Nashville, Tennessee; two sisters, LeJune Perkins and her husband, Larry, and Tonya Ahrens and her husband, Walt, all of Mountain Grove, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and many friends.
We celebrate his life and many accomplishments and will cherish the precious memories he created for his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
No local services are being held at this time, but services are set for 10:00 A.M.,Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Johnson Creek Baptist Church, Hwy 57, State Line, Mississippi, with burial in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
Local arrangements were under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri.
